Breath and Bandhas Workshops - July 2004
This 30-45 minute workshop gives special attention to breathing, bandhas, and energetics in Ashtanga Yoga. Strongly recommend for all students practicing, particularly those of you who've been practicing 6 months or longer. Includes:
Cultivating and improving breath awareness, breath control and breath quality
Finding uddiyana bandha and mula bandha; linking mula and uddiyana bandha; work on jalandhara bandha
Energetic circuits - what they are, where they are, how and when to connect them, what to give preference
This workshop is held in conjunction with regularly scheduled classes. Evening classes on these days will start at 5:45 and will be followed by led practice. Come prepared to start right at the start of class.

Next Getting on the Mat Workshops: Fall 2004
Designed for Ashtanga practioners, this workshop can also benefit practitioners of other styles of yoga. This 2 hour workshop is designed to benefit yoga practitioners who:
haven't practiced for awhile and are restarting their practice
do more of their practice at home than in the studio
are concerned with any of the dynamics described below
The workshop covers (may be tailored for participants' interests and requests):
dynamics of stopping practice: injury, life change, stagnancy
dynamics of returning to practice: a feeling of lost ground, guilt, eagerness
how to return to practice safely; injury prevention
establishing and maintaining a home practice
the challenge of practicing daily
brief review of Ashtanga foundations (breathing, dristi, bandhas, vinyasa)
a gentle led practice of about 30 minutes
